The anger crowd seems to believe that remove and replace will fix everything. And apparently, if you question the process or ask just who will replace this failed MEC, you get labeled as a “TA1 lover”. Are we in grade school? A once strong union has found the lowest common denominator, it seems - mob rules, zero context, and entitlement. Enjoy the 5%, I predict that all we’ll see for a while. As for reps on deck, buyer beware and check the credentials carefully. That is if they have the respect for the pilots to publicly announce their willingness to serve. |

I guess you don't like democratic governance, accountability and elections. Apparently you prefer autocratic rule like Todd and the Toddlers who gave us TA1. Fortunately, 94% of pilots disagree with you on TA1 and the majority wrt recalls.

Your aim to straw man and fight any bit of nuanced position with accusations is so thinly veiled, I honestly wonder if you understand that you’re probably doing your cause disservice. |

There was no doubt in my mind that we needed change. You are semi right- no one came out and said "Lets Recall and then Elect me!" But should they? I threw my name in the hat for SecTreas after the recall.. but I also did it with the intent that I would serve as Interim if, and only if no one else stepped up. SS stepped up (also) and he ran a great meeting for the Interim Rep election. He was elected ST and that was good for this pilot group. We had a few people willing to run and now with full elections in swing, there are a few more (myself included). Most of us get it. Unionism is Hard. Being a volunteer is Harder and I would imagine that being a Rep is Even Harder. But to say that it's better to stay with the current crop of individuals (back in the summer) who led us down this road, is acceptable. Agree to disagree. Always Motch |

Recalling reps is about holding them accountable for their failure to do their most fundamental duty- represent our interests to the company above all else. It takes them out of positions from which they’ve caused us harm & creates consistency of expectations for future reps. It also begins the hard work of electing their replacements & fixing systems of apathy in which we allowed this failure to occur. It is a long process & success is not guaranteed; but that alone isn’t sufficient reason to maintain the status quo. The recent question our pilots have had to ask themselves is whether that hard work & uncertainty is better than sticking with the “devil we know”. For the most part, the majority answer has been “yes”. |

Unfortunately unspent money doesn’t get passed on when the employee and eligible spouse die. It goes back to the company.
“upon the death of the pilot, the funds in the RHA/VEBA can only be used by the surviving spouse and dependent children. If there is not a surviving spouse or there are no eligible dependents, remaining money in the pilot’s RHA/VEBA account is lost and reallocated to current RHA/VEBA plan participants. “ |
