The union seems to be mostly dug-in on demanding “industry leading”, the company is making progress toward their side, and neither side considers the process stalled. Would I like more details? Yes, but mostly to satisfy my curiosity.
That’s also true, maybe I want to know more because I just want information. But also, I’m quite sure there’s an element in all of us that wants more because last time we knew nothing and then were presented with a giant turd sandwich with extra turd and some additional turd on the side.

Many of us have that “once bitten twice shy” feeling. But the response when trust is not honored is not to stop trusting, but to find people more worthy of your trust. There is necessarily some element of trust inherent in a representative position; & if TUMI 1 was anything, it was an education on holding reps accountable when they fail to meet that standard.

I’d hate to have to go through the recalls all over again- though I’m willing if the situation requires it. My hope (and my optimistic sense) is that we’ve done a lot to create a clearer standard of what success in representation looks like. I’d be surprised if most of our new reps see much ambiguity there.
