Yeah but they need a substantial increase not “not a decline”

Outside of a few BES's LPAs are pretty damm high...with a bunch having 90 hours LCC and we are at some of the lower demand months. Don't see how much more the LPA and LCF could go up in a lot of the BES's.

To bid captain you must be off probation, which includes not only the first 6-9 month MV/LOE but also the completion of 12-bid months an 165 days of work. The first MV/LOE is usually before the 12-month point needed to be released from probation. Regardless in order to be “awarded” a captain vacancy, one must already be off probation (in other words the bid would not be awarded if still on probation); and once off probation they would not be Able to just fire you for not bidding captain.

Just make us all captain checkairmen. Solves all the problems. You wear three stripes until probation, then you upgrade and everyone has four stripes. You can sit in both seats.

Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.

United no longer has check airmen, they’re now called check pilots. People actually get paid good money to make this stuff up.🙄

I know you want all the covid years paid at the new rates, but for an A350 check airman you never seem to stop whining. Pretty embarrassing for one of the highest paid pilots in the industry to not ever be happy about anything ever. You are literally going to other airline forums just to complain.

Assuming that airman is a generic term for all sorts of roles… check captain probably makes the most sense.

Was there an FE check airman role back in the day? Was it an omnipotent check captain like now or an FE specific role?

There were check engineers and it was a F/E specific role, but I don’t remember if it was a coveted position. Check captain would be probably viewed as elitist and non inclusive. Personally, I just call people a-holes since it’s gender neutral.
