by fall 2026 United will receive 36 more 787s ( some 777 A models will retire of course by then )
expecting 6500 or less seniority number will be able to hold WB captain at SFO or EWR

Personal preference could dictate either one is a great option. But it's definitely worth considering when making such a big decision... or just accept that the future of a particular airline is unknowable and that YMMV...
another very important question to consider is culture at AA/DL/UA. Do you want awesome seniority progression with uptight callsign pilots, grumpy old and duchie new pilots, or whatever we are. All the pay and work rules in the world won’t change the people you work with for the rest of your career

Not a dig at the earning potential of a 320 CA or A350 FO by any means, but that's a long time to be waiting for the opportunity to trade your Christmases and Thanksgivings for widebody captain pay
His website has its uses, but his projections are difficult to follow. 31 years would get you up to about 2200 on the seniority list. For reference, the junior NYC330A is 3700ish. And it will likely go significantly junior to that on this current AE.

closer to 2/3ds.

DL has 16,700 pilots on the latest seniority list,
10,800 of those were hired since 1/1/14. 5,300 have been hired since hiring resumed in June 2021.

LOL 2040s! In aviation, that might as well be year 2346. It is surprising though that delta has already hired 2/3 of the seniority list the last 10 years. That’s a lot of 30+ something year olds above you now

The culture thing is a load of crap. We're all pilots hiring from the same pool of candidates. As retirements progress, so too does "culture."

…in SFO. I’m 24% and can’t hold either in EWR.

I interviewed at UAL annd DAL and sat the jumpseat on everyone. The cultures and happiness levels at certain airlines almost beats you in the face. Some airlines have more unionized labor than others and some work groups work in fear of getting fired. The welcome to interview email at delta is LONG and cold while United’s was three paragraphs and welcoming. I would rather work with people who aren’t so uptight and can actually enjoy what we do. The ex-northwest guys at delta are a different breed but few and far between. Culture is very real.

31 years would get you to 2200 if you were hired in 1992 or if you were hired today after a decade of Delta hiring 25 year olds?
