I'm currently on a trip with a guy that spent a year at American before coming to United. Not a big deal to switch legacies these days, especially cause he lives in base with UA and commuted to AA.

I would be losing few hundreds number of seniority, but I assume it should not make much of a difference if the industry slows down significantly.

You and everyone else not at their legacy of choice seniority is "losing" hundreds of seniority numbers each month. All you can do is address the things under your control that will make you more appealing like: having your app professionally reviewed, getting to conferences, working on a meet & greet, and updating your current employer to a major airline.

I will update my employer once I move to the next airline. Unfortunately, the next conference is in February, and I do not know anyone who can help me with the M&G. Nonetheless, I appreciate your suggestions.

If you have another major or legacy on your application to United, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got a bite before even needing to go to another conference. Also, the vast majority of people hired these days have not done a chief pilot M&G.

Get through another training program at a competitor, get a new type rating on a big boy jet, and update your stuff regularly. You might be very surprised with the result.

People generally have better luck at job fairs than going through the CP meet and greet process...

I got a friend of mine from OO who had just upgraded and had barely 100 hrs in the left seat a meet and greet with my base chief. He got an interview invite a week later and was in class 6 weeks after that. If you know someone here that feels strongly enough about you to go with you to the CP meet and it goes well it can be a game changer.

4 years ago next month he was 25 and barely had his 1500 hrs to start at Skywest. Today he is just off probation at United and holds a 737 CA bid. If your not spending your free time working your connections and polishing your application you should be.

I am at SWA, but what from I understand, if metering happens at all, it's AFTER you get hired. So put the app in and see what happens

Not sure. For what I have heard so far, when pilots change their employer, they get called.
