The Meet&Greet is known to be a trigger event for an interview with UAL, unfortunately, I do not know anyone who can help me with that; I have a ton of friends between AA and DAL, though. 🤣 My application has been professionally reviewed already, and I have been updating it on daily basis.

Just to table expectations, it's very unlikely that someone is going to go to a meet and greet with someone you barely know. If someone isnt getting a call today, it's for a reason. It isn't like the lottery it used to be.

Have you called/e-mailed pilot hiring that you already have a class date at AA/DL? That would work wonders if the only thing limiting you is that you work for SkyWest.

I have not done that yet. I thought about it, but I did not want to come across as arrogant. The one thing I feel I am really missing is a college degree, other than that, I have never failed a check-ride or training event, I have between 3,500 and 4,000 hours total and around 300 hours PIC under Part 121. CFI-I A & H, MEI, IGI/AGI, and Gold Seal (not sure if it even matters)... and I speak fluently three languages.

So far, I interviewed with two majors, and I received two CJOs.

I have nothing to confirm if this is true, but I was told the current failure rate is hovering at around 25-30% of applicants and interviewees. Again not sure if that is a legitimate number, sounded like a lot to me.

I was told the same by an interviewer that I flew with. They said that the “fog a mirror” belief is a bit overblown and getting people into trouble. The TBNT rate hasn’t really changed from the past, it’s just a lot easier to get an interview these days. You don’t have to sacrifice your first born and rescue 2000 puppies just to have your name put in a hat to get an opportunity to maybe come interview if you’re lucky enough to have your name drawn.

If a person meets the qualifications and has clean background, they will likely get their chance at an interview. Yet, some people believe it’s a “gimme” and come in completely unprepared and/or cocky with the attitude and belief that the interview is just some formality at this point.

I personally know 3 people that have gotten rejected. One I could see their ego getting in the way. So, I wasn’t overly surprised. The other two were a complete shock to me. The two surprising ones ended up elsewhere and will have great careers. The other is still looking…

Now, I would counter that a 70-75% failure rate these days with only a 40 minute face to face interview is a bit different than the past with an 70-75% failure rate with a written test, a sim eval, and a face to face.

Can be 100% a game changer, unfortunately there's been a slew of CP meet and greets that end up being duds and no one really knows why. Could be inter CPO politics, or lack of consistent expectation and prioritization of Meet and greets across all the CPOs etc.

With a job fair, it's an applicant directly making the connection to a Hiring team member.

I'd do either. I can see your point. I can only speak for DEN. I do recall getting a company email from DEN CPO saying they had openings for meet and greets and outlined the process. When I recommended my guy I emailed the CPO, the secratary emailed me back the next day asking for a copy of my guy's resume which I sent that day, and the next morning she emailed me back with a list of appointment dates/times. It was that easy.

was your guy AF? If so….at that base, with that CP…I’m sure it was that easy. It’s most likely not the same system-wide nor is it the same with all backgrounds.
