new vacancy bid 24-06V

Sure, but the bottom of a new seniority list is the bottom of a new seniority list and a furlough is a furlough. Why are you making it specific to new hire captains? Your post came across as a bit passive aggressive. But I came from the left seat of a ULCC as well. So, believe me, I get it and don’t blame you.
What did you honestly expect the answer to be though? That you would get recalled back to the left seat? Second year narrowbody FO pay is ~$175/hr. Plan that as worst case scenario furlough recall pay (obviously that assumes that a concessionary contract isn’t in play at the time).

if you are worried about a furlough then stay where you are. I don’t get why people are scared of furloughs……if you can’t stomach it then stay where you are at. The last furlough was 16 years ago, yet the next one is always right around the corner.
i was 50% at my last airline when I left now I’m 45% at United and have never been furloughed and am a line holding CA. The longer you wait worrying about the boogeyman the worse your situation is going to be.
