Uh, yeah we were. We may have been fighting to boot the MEC but we all largely know what a good contract looks like and what gains we wanted. Some were more in favor of different aspects than others but for the most part the pilot group was all pulling in the same direction.
Watching them argue was like watching a five way tug of war.

We were broken downhill a few months ago in a great internatioal destination, they timed out before the flight crew. EVERY single one of them voted to waive duty time to get home. I told one of them This is why you Don't and Won't have a contract.

As well, very few wear union lanyards or pins.
I have asked some FAs about contract negotiations before and I got deer in the headlights look. I don’t ask anymore.

But I would bet you some beers, that Tumi would have passed if it weren’t for AA going second and SK ego.

You honestly believe that? I didn't fly with anyone that didn't think it was hot garbage. I know, I know, people scream bloody murder and then vote yes. But in this case, I do believe it pi$$ed most people off. I mean, look at what happened to the administration.

I dunno, I don’t agree. I truly believe the pilot group was fractured. It was evident when Tumi was first released…. It took a AA contract with some improvements and SK wanting to out do it lol….

It was always going to crash and burn.
Also, it needed to happen - the post-COVID rebound, the growth, the time since the last contract modification - it was uncharted territory, and United was the first one in the barrel. It was a dart that was thrown, and fell way short. DL's contract and then subsequently UPA23 wouldn't have happened if TA1 wasn't so weak, and so resoundingly defeated.

yeah, it’s hard to make our old reserve rules worse than they were, but Tumi managed to do it.

Not a chance, and TI knew it. It’s why they left voting open for so long (3 months). He couldn’t make a run for national with a fresh contract failure on his record and they knew almost right away that thing was going down.
That contract went down by 94% and it had nothing to do with AA, everyone could see it was dog feces from the get go. That’s not fractured.
