I agree with your sentiment about not changing jobs for that benefit, but I nonrev with spouse and two children all the time. I think we've maybe had to flex to a backup one time? Never had to bite the bullet and pay for tickets.

Meh, that's kind of a break from the description of old, especially as it relates to a difference between the freight carriers;

UPS, a trucking company that uses airplanes to help move thier packages.

FedEX, and AIRLINE that also uses trucks to help get their packages where they need to go.

depends where you’re going. With two small kids, non-revving is impossible unless we just go with open flight loads. If we’re trying to get to a specific place, we have to buy tickets.

when it was just the wife and I we never bought a ticket. Kids under 5 need to be with an adult I’m pretty sure and they also can’t be upgraded to first or Polaris

Correct. Kids can fly in Polaris with parent/adult starting at 15 and on their own at 18.

Kids can go up front at 6 or 8 or something. Definitely single digits

Just remember that most 121 passenger folks can non-rev on the other carriers too. I nonrev a lot on UAL as a WN guy. Non-rev benefits are great until your kids age out. At that point, you can afford the tickets!

I appreciate the correction. I don't know where I got 15 from. Must have been something else, but good news.
