Only applicable if you are fortunate enough to live in base. Don’t try this as a commuter .

This is combined SFO numbers from several recent bids - some had more of one category than the other. How long it will take to reach X% system seniority varies a lot.
However that’s not what the systemwide juniors are even since new contract

I know, my point is more that a vacancy award is not really reflective of what longevity it takes to hold a BES. For instance tho past vacancy there weren’t any NBCA in ORD but the Airbus backfill went to 8200. That doesn’t really reflect accurately that it takes that many years to hold NBCA on the bus.

a single vacancy yes. I hunted through several bids to find a situation where dozens were awarded. It wasn’t an exhaustive search but it smoothed things out a but.

i think those numbers are probably representative of post 2023 norms. Reserve is decent and they aren’t hiring 20% of the airline in 1 year

i think it kind of does….NBCA and WBFO went massively Junior in a different era under an old contract. Since then it has gone a lot more senior based on company percentage.

Its going to stay there. Hell our WBCA plug has been the plug for 2 years. Nothing is getting more junior in foreseeable future.

Correct. Definitely not commuter friendly.

I agree, but I also think there’s a bit of FOMO going on in some bases especially ORD where I am at. It’s amazing how people change their bidding thoughts when the opportunities decrease. It’s still a time of unprecedented movement , ride the wave with a smile!
