What is the latest from the IAH school house?

Anything new on the CAL training plans in light of 787 new smoke and flames demo?

Did everyone getting recalled get class dates yet?

Anyone in CAL class have any word on recalls beyond the original 147? Is there any talk about recalling us UAL furloughees? 2172

The word is no recall/hiring of UAL furloughees as a result of the last system staffing bid.

There will be another bid early in 2011 but with another delay coming for the 787 its hard to say.

CAL's delivery date is protected a bit by being #45 in line so Boeing may be able to take up the slack before next fall and with CAL's aircraft yet to be built the changes will be incorporated in to the build instead of modifying already built aircraft. Some experts believe that aircraft yet to be built may actually end up being delivered before those that are already assembled.

FWIW, and take this with a big ass grain of salt(also recommend the tequilla be close by as well)..I was in IAH last week to get my fingerprints/drug test taken care of before I go back to class..the office admin. told me that she heard from the cpo's that cal was gonna be hiring some of the ual furloughees in the new future..also, some of the recalled pilots are having there class dates moved UP...(that last statement is factual, not rumored)..anyhow, hang tough all, hopefully this all gets better for all of us..scfb.

Heard that an adjustment bid of 20 Captains and 50 F/O's will be issued early next month. As all CAL furloughees have been recalled the 70 should be UAL types.

Regular bid in January with LAX 737 base addition.

All subject to change but heard from multiple somewhat reliable sources.

Super, Socal, and 75Driver,

Thanks for the staffing updates, training move up reports, and latest rumors. With the noticeable silence on the issue over the last month it is nice to hear something.

Sounds like there is still some POTENTIAL for additional spring classes.

Thanks again for your updates!

With the class dates moved up, what is the date of the last class?

Not enough to warrant hiring, but the recent bid at United had unfilled vacancies and an additional bid should be made to prepare for summer staffing levels.
