do you guys know what base you ll be in before accepting the recall?
i could see for some guys, Guam would be a deal breaker..
Can you accept a recall only if it s not Guam or do you not find out after you've already accepted?

Which Furlough Coordinator? There're actually two. TC and TM. One coordinates from the ALPA side, the other from the company`s side.

We also just lost an active CAL fella to DAL. He was a 2001 Furlough from NWA. He finally took his recall. Now those are some fine recall rights.
I just wish he was senior to me.

I seriously doubt that information. Having talked with some guys who are friends with some furloughed people, several are NOT coming back. There are military commitments for some, a few pilots to other airlines, and a few other things I have heard.

They may have all been recalled, but they aren't all going to come back. We will only know by the response date.

Hmmm....curious? A G9XXX or is it more like M5XXX-M9XXX employee # or ball park seniority?

May want to look deeper into that. The only thing I would say to be 100% accurate on that topic is that ALL furloughs ('old' CAL side of the list) have been sent recall letters (09/17/10).....but as far as 100% of those furloughs 'signing' on the line as to "YES, I'm committed"?? Find that hard to believe.....at least until their training date comes to the table and their actually in class.

Either way, best of luck, and we look forward to seeing the 'gates' open in bringing back all the furloughs.

The union was pushing for everyone coming back. And i think the union is defining taking MLA or FLA as coming back and then taking a leave of absence. So unless one doesn't send anything back or sends a FU letter back and just selects one of the three choices(coming back, MLA or FLA) I think they are defining that as coming back. That's what it sounding like on the furlough conference call.

I hope they all do come back.

Again, just a 'tall/bold prediction' to say 100% are coming back when not all 100% have had their class date 'actually' happen.....in a 'perfect' world, I would agree.

Just say'in......

I correct my statement. I asked both UAL Furlough Coordinators (Alpa and Company) how many Continental guys are coming back and they said that according to the furlough coordinator at Continental they are all coming back. Now from reading some of the responses it may be 95% come back.

I just wanted to share the info. that I got. You are right until they start training and putting those guys in classes we do not know who will come back for sure.

Hired March 2008, furloughed 1 Oct 2008.
