I don't think CAL wants us UAL furloughees, we cost more than the standard newhire pilot, both financially and culturally. We have been seasoned a bit from the street, some of us twice. I would be happy with any fair offer, no one owes us anything. We have all learned to make it on our own, but that does not mean we will take anything. Remember the 2172 grassroots effort at UAL?
You need to rethink this "no one owes us anything" stance. You were kicked to the street while "money bags" Tilton walked away with everything. It's high time we let people know that MANAGEMENT has done nothing but hurt us. They scream there's no money, but their is ALWAYS plenty for them and their ilk. They cut our jobs, benefits, pay, etc., and then compensate themselves with the "savings". They owe you a LOT my friend..............

Does he really know something 1 year in advance? Can you post that letter? Was this an announcement or what he thinks.

You are completely correct. I think most of us double-furloughees feel so beaten down by management and forgotten by ALPA that we have just walked away as the future feels hopeless.
I can tell you one thing, and I hope I speak for most of my double-furloughed brethren, if we, the 2172/1450 ever get together in the same cause, we will be galvanized. After all that we have been through I feel about as close to any of these individuals as I would a squadron buddy in any deployment. It is an unwanted status, but one which when you meet another, you can't help but drink heavily, vent and feel better after spending time around somebody else who truly understands what kind of career "hell" we have/are going through. I don't think any of us will ever forget all that has happened.

Hang in there, we'll get you back soon.

At CAL, the only thing I expect ever is no hiring or no recalls until I see it. They like to run this staff so lean and treat the crews like slaves in the summer to only graciously offer COLAs and reduced flying the rest of the year as a reward for the all the hard work. Of course that reward comes with a reduction in pay.
