Does anyone know what the senior involuntary furlough seniority number is at UAL? I'm trying to figure out exactly where I am on the list. I have a ballpark figure, but would like to be more accurate. I've been searching all over the UAL ALPA site and can't find it. Thanks in advance!

There are 209 voluntary furloughs above him.
Also 2 names are to be re-added for accidental removal. Not sure
where they are but probably junior.
So to find your spot take your current sen#-6442+211 (assuming two guys ahead of you or 209 if not).

Just a WAG on my part using the 7/1/11 seniority list. Assuming roughly 200 vol furloughs (all of varying seniority above that number) occupy half the initial mailing and there remains approx 200 below the junior active pilot, that would place the hire date of number 400 (total initial mailing from the one update for first attempt at takers) puts the hire date at 11/22/99.
Remember, the update said they'd be calling the top 100 in the senior vol furlough category probably to get a feel for what interest they had and that the top 400 would get the first official "new hire" offers.
I've been "called" basically (declined the offer for a call in an email exchange when offered). Haven't gotten the CAL letter yet but I'm sure it will come soon enough.
Sounds like you're in the window for a letter in the near future.

Noticed a white envelope with purple and orange lettering sitting on the door step this afternoon.
Was very excited to get an invite from FEDEX, but it was just a letter from CAL in a FEDEX envelope.
Dated AUG 15, with response due by 25 AUG for 04 OCT Guam slots, or AUG 30 for any other slots. All Guam slots are advertised as being 04 OCT.
3 options to respond;
1. Accept
2. Bypass
3. Mil Defer
A no response is considered a bypass. Guam slots had a separate election form.
Never did get a phone call from UAL... Oh well
Sounds like the first round bypass rates will be known at the end of August.

Tony,
It will be kinda like my term life insurance policy I kept current from UAL... I won't rule the CAL option completely out, but I sure hope I don't have to use it!
My new job has turned out much better than expected, but as both of us know all too well, things are very dynamic in this industry.
Hope things are going well for you!
