Please show me the "deal" that we gained furlough and ratio protection. As a professional, I'll be anxiously awaiting your reply.
But, hey....psssst....I'll give you a little hint as to why this board is such a joke and you feel my calling you thick headed is so unprofessional.....
WE DIDN'T GET ANY PROTECTIONS AS A PART OF ANY DEAL!!!!
Your boy Pierce went rouge and 'negotiated' your side deal while knowing that the UAL side would be completely cut out of it.
So, DO YOU UNDERSTAND????!! The UAL side got NOTHING!

Since nobody else will I'll say it: how freaking dumb was Wendy and her crew for demanding CAL pay rates on the fly?!? Uncial leverage was at best a 500K grievance and vague job action threats that 5 UAL chodes made 'complicated'. Sorry but as the story unfolds the bottom line is Wendy is as good at blackjack as Austin Powers: "I also live dangerously!"

That being said, it was obvious that mgmt planned on giving CAL pilots profit sharing one way or another. That's where they assumed they had $40 million in leverage instead of just $500K.

So, just to illustrate, if you made $100,000 of say a total $1billion in employee compensation, your portion of the profit sharing pool would equate to .0001%. An example for simplicity sake.

In reading the JP rebuttal, I don't think he used that particular "word" to sum it up. However, in his summary of events, he sure did liken CA M's actions/tactics to that of "going all in with a pair of twos".
Reading the referred to excerpt below, it speaks volumes to the types of "odds" in which she chose to embark upon.
It is unfortunate that the UAL MEC and their leadership were left with nothing to show for their efforts, but I make no apologies for achieving profit sharing for the CAL pilots once it was clear that any extension of the TPA terminable provisions was unachievable by year-end 2011. It is easy to second guess strategies and hindsight is always 20-20, but the truth is that when you take an all-or-nothing stance, sometimes you end up with nothing. That is what the UAL leadership gambled with. They went all in with a pair of twos and seemed shocked that management called their bluff. Now they are left with the difficult position of having to explain to their pilots why they failed. Even more unfortunate, rather than taking responsibility for their decisions, strategies and actions, they instead cast blame in my direction and on our MEC. I cannot help but think back to Capt. Morse’s own words in her October video describing the UAL MEC to the UAL pilots, "The current MEC is renowned throughout the world for its vicious and self-destructive behavior."

Why not just go enjoy your money and your "win". You won, we lost, you're happy, we're mad. Why are you still trying to defend and rationalize the actions of your MEC chair?
The wheels are in motion now for our next move. Typical in a negotiation. With eyes wide open of course and for that I guess I owe Pierce a big thank you.

Technically, that's just the value to the pilots. The company will realize significantly more capital in actual sales from the aircraft.

Almost nothing!......! Well, if you think this will result in a jcba in the same amount of time... You are right. However, if this keeps the jcba from happening for a significant period of time, it will cost the CAL pilots significantly more than the quickie $40 million they will get next month. Not to mention the L-UAL pilots lost pay due to taking longer to complete the jcba! Penny wise, Pound foolish... In my humble opinion!
