For a start, how do you feel about demanding that your MC and MEC sign an agreement with the UAL MC and MEC to not use JCBA terms in the SLI process? DAL & NW signed an agreement like this. What say you?

At no point has the CAL MEC stood shoulder to shoulder with the UAL MEC to defend anything - including safety. It is as simple as that IMHO. So be it. At least we know the score.

CP stops a CA in the hallway for not wearing his hat and asks where it is. Captain says its in my bag. CP says put it on. Captain says I don't think I can get my head in the bag.

Sure...........as long as those on property are protected at their relative seniority I have no problem with that.

I guess the tack is to not answer the question and just ask another question to avoid answering the first. JS is pretty good at that too!

CAL MEC wouldn't support a training initiative with UAL MEC. Not only wouldn't they support it, they submarined it with public statements from JP. You can't expect UA to keep putting olive branches out there to build unity when CAL MEC keeps on trampling on them.

What is UA doing to help get a JCBA? A most recent example: Ghana trip cancelled yesterday because there were no Captains willing to do the Company favors until we get a JCBA.

At least there is one guy at CAL that get's it ... too bad there aren't more.

Based on the highlighted text ... that answers my original question in the original post that was avoided. The PS placated enough CAL pilots that the VD massacre that was promised never materialized. Management’s ploy worked ... throw a little money at them and that will keep them in line for another year.

Coach, of course getting profit sharing prevented a "Valentines Day Massacre." That was the point of contention. If you think CAL pilots were placated by receiving profit sharing, you are mistaken.

A lot of truth in that statement.

The PS check didn't placate anyone. The people who pick up open time and are saving the company from their staffing issues are the same people who, guess what? Usually pick up open time and save the company from their staffing issues! Those "entrepreneurs" as someone else put it have always been around and the PS check didn't change or add to their behavior.

The majority of us weren't placated nor bought off by PS. We are more intelligent than that. I'm still ticked at the company. I'm still working under the same draconian rules today that I worked under on February 13th. I'm still getting the same minimum days off. I'm still training on days off. Do you really think the majority of pilots here are going to forget about all that and be distracted by a small check like we are cats with a new toy??? I saw my PS check in the bank, moved it to investments and then went right back to wanting a new contract NOW! PS was forgotten two minutes after I logged offline.
