Good. Glad to hear this. (Not the 787 part. That's bad)

Back to real title, CAL system bid is coming sooner than later. 787 has caused some issues. Regardless if SLI, staffing needs to be addressed before summer.
Now THAT'S funny! I love it , thanks for posting that. Some of these guys are way tooo uptight. Nothing like a little levity to break things up.

I for one, am highly anticipating this bid. I hope I'm not disappointed.

Company had to consider this but couldn't see a way to do this with no ISL and they need many positions filled for the summer so they will publish a system bid soon.

A further rumor is that the UAL MEC, having lost that battle (with precedent set to lose the same battle in the next LCAL system bid 6 months from now when ISL still may not be completed), is now pushing for a very rapid SLI so that further bids (LCAL type or otherwise) won't occur without UAL pilots in the mix.

Complete, unsubstantiated rumors.

With 589 vacancies this rumor may still be false, but you've got to wonder if UAL wants another CAL-only bid. They voted yes to stop the upgrades and here we are with the largest vacancy bid since the "flush bid" of '98.

It is 100% true the the bid was held up by JH and his protests. He threatened legal action and the company had to consult its legal team to find out the possible scenarios.

For what its worth just talked to someone in union who said first meeting with arbitrators probably wont happen until end of may early June. They plan on having a SLI done by September.

That will give us plenty of time to steal and show our true colors.

This jives fairly closely with the latest union output regarding this issue. I believe they projected August, but also cautioned that once the arbitrators have it, there is no specific time line.

Well, the bid is out. Guess they didn't have a case?

Was there anything left out of the bid that the company wanted in?
