Additional L-UAL pilot recalls

Sonny have you passed this on the Allen? This really solidifies the argument. You stay at United Airlines sub CAL and you get 5 year pay, you return to United Airlines sub UAL and you immediately jump back to 9 year pay, even without the furlough credit your CAL brother got.s

If you are asking why many sUAL furloughees believe they should displace all sCAL 99-08 hires. I would assume it is because career expectation is a big part of the ALPA merger policy and career expectation doesn't mean what seat you are in today. Remember a lot more widebodies on the sUAL side pre-merger.
By the way I don't think 99 sUAL hires should be placed ahead of all post 99 hire sCAL pilots, nor do I think all sUAL furloughees should be stapled to the bottom of the list. But it doesn't matter what I think anyway.
If everyone is unhappy, it was probably fair.

Here is what I think:
The most senior CAL pilot who was furloughed , those 150 or so..2007 or so seniority I think and the 9/07 UAL new hired pilots and thereafter pilots should get date of hire.
That's the base.
Now the most senior, 98 oct I believe UAL pilot and there after whoa was furloughed should get 2/1 ratio from 98 to 2007 and slide them between the CAL group from 98-2007.... The rest of the group day of hire and let all see where it takes us ...
Example: a 98 Ual pilot will have 9 years(98-2007). now divided by 2 then we have 4.5 years. now add the 2007-13 6years thats 4.5 years plus 6 years is 10.5 years,,,, now subtract 10.5 from 2013 is around mid 2002 that's your new seniority number mr 98 hired united pilot ... Every pilot before oct 98 for both company's date of hired.
Those CAL captain 2006 and before will lose a little but the will keep the left seat for 3 years and they will hold it for sure after 3 year... So they should be happy .
AND everyone gets longevity for pay according what's their new
Seniority year,,, example 98 united pilot will get 11 th year pay of what they fly or hold
With 3 year wide body fences and captain seats for all.

Based on how CAL paid pilots, you will only get paid for what you actually fly, not on what you can hold.
Company does not want fences as they will not achieve the maximum cost savings they want
All the talk about the 99 UAL hires and the 07 CAL hires may not matter. I think the process to merge the 80-90 hires will ultimately dictate where/how everyone else falls.
We will also see how BINDING, binding arbitration can be.
Just my 2 cents.
We'll find out in 6 months.

I don't know, but I seriously doubt that unical gave the arbitrator the right to change someones longevity for pay purposes. Again, I don't know, but I doubt that unical is even a party to the arbitration.
