July 2nd here! I haven't been able to stop smiling! :-D and I couldn't agree more!! Everyone needs to do their time being a new hire and I am looking foreword to it! I've talked to a lot of both groups of pilots traveling.. And everyone has been so encouraging and welcoming! It really makes me extremely excited honored humbled and proud to be a part of your team! See you all in training and on the line!!

I don't know the reason for the delay. During the entire 3+ week break, the IOE scheduler wouldn't return phone calls or answer the phone. When he called to tell me about my IOE he simply said they were backed up. I don't see consolidation being a problem as I have a 89:50 line in June alone. Of course I have to finish IOE before I can fly my line and right now I am about 3 hours short of the IOE I need to finish. I enjoyed the paid vacation but frankly I am a little concerned about the speed and quality of my flows on the first few flights after so much time off.

Consolidation will be no concern for you. If it comes down to it, they will even buy trips from line holders to get you done. Traditionally you had no issue but with all the training it has become a little harder but everyone gets it done with a week or two to spare. Flying 60+ hours a month will happen in the summer easily.

If in doubt, just hit the Recall and say the transponder is in STBY. And it doesn't hurt a thing leaving the Trim air switch on.
