What does a loaded 737-9 burn in cruise?

Which will leave more revenue at the gate? On a hot day in DEN, ABQ, PHX, SNA etc?

Or in winter?

Stolen from PM on another forum....

As Lerxst said, "I'd much rather have a revamped and retooled 57 that has loads of performance to get out of anywhere and cruise above the weather than the 900er that can't do either"

    Amen Brother!

      • Enter the chart labeled Approach Climb Limit for the desired landing flap setting. Read the Approach Climb Limit Weight.

      • Reduce the Approach Climb Limit Weight by the following:

      900ER - 26,500 pounds
Supposedly that data is not accurate. Heard that from a check airman (D.E.) FWIW. Although if it were then the 900er would not be dispatched into DEN nearly ever.
You can ask him (D.E.). He's in the ORD office every other week.

I do agree however that the 757 trumps the 900er in all things performance.

FYI, that weight penalty language is straight from the current UA 737 FM (Sec. 5 Page 56).

Even if it's not accurate, I don't see any relief unless (until) the FM is revised, no? Last I checked we had to follow the book.

I know where it came from. I have been known to crack a book every once in a while...
And while true we do follow the book, we dont dispatch the airplane and generate the accuload either. *** are we talking about this for anyway? The 757 is no longer manufactured. The 900er will have to do for now. The max hopefully will be a better performer and match up better to the aircraft it has replaced.

    Default Sick & Tired

Just me but I'm so tired if this new EX CON regime putting minor improvements in the bottom line over drastic disruptions in the lives of its supposedly valued employees...oh sorry, coworkers!

Here's what a true leadership position would be. No base or equipment changes until SLI is complete.

As usual this pathetic excuse of a management team is very well versed in speaking points but have no real grasp of reality. Action vs. Words, remember the adage?

I personally guarantee that the money wasted by ****ed off pilots will far outweigh any on-paper savings from what they are doing. Disgruntled employees have memories and long careers so do the math.

    Just me!

Replacing 757s with 737-900s is like me telling my wife I'm going to replace her 8 year old BMW 7 series with a Honda Civic. Hey. It carries the same number of passengers and gets better fuel economy. It truly is similar.
