You are wrong.

Not all the involuntary furloughs have been "offered a recall" back to UNITED. Job offer to CAL yes, but not recalled.
Whatever makes you sleep better at night. Happy 90 hours to you sir!

Not sure why they don't just change this to read:
"If you are a B737 Captain in IAH who does a straight pickup of any 737 Captain or First Officer trip in any base after the issuance of this message that originates on May 30, 2013, through June 4, 2013, that pickup will be treated as a 'Voluntary Junior Manning' (VJM) event and you will be paid 200% of your normal hourly rate."
"If you are a B737 Pilot who does a straight pickup of any trip in any base between Memorial Day and Labor Day, that pickup will be treated as a 'Voluntary Junior Manning' (VJM) event and you will be paid 200% of your normal hourly rate."
It's what they'll be doing anyway. They put out a dozen of these messages last year that basically covered the entire summer.

If that helps one look themselves in the mirror and pretend that they have integrity, great. Covering for management's faulty manpower model at a 200% premium when there are furloughed pilots on the street perpetuates the perception of the CAL scab mentality.

1) What exactly do you think think UA voluntary furloughs (with full severance) represented? Or the reduced credit limits while pilots are furloughed?
2) The UAL MEC raised the assessment and provided medical coverage for three years for furloughed pilots.

Could you please go section by section of OUR contract and tell us what parts if exercised by EITHER pilot group would be considered SCAB mentality? I will be sure to tell the furloughed guys flying the CAL side that are picking up open time your thoughts!! (They're probably trying to make up some of the money they lost from the furlough since you guys didn't have any type of furlough mitigation or health insur. coverage paid for by the active pilots, like CAL did!!) You would be surprised what "mentality" some of these guys think the UAL guys have!! Just sayin!

Really,
I'm a EWR based FO and furloughed United guy. Just to clear the record, United's furlough fund covered my Cobra payments for nearly 14 months while I was out of work. I will be eternally grateful to the United pilots for doing this and I go out of my way to thank them whenever I come in contact with them at work or at the bar.
I am a line holder and would prefer to fly in the mid 70s for a month. I don't understand why my June line came out at 91 hours. I thought the computer had to stop loading flying on your line after it hit 84 hours...but I'm still learning.
I've enjoyed every CAL pilot I've worked with away from the training center...and most of my United buddies on the Cal side would probably echo that sentiment. But get your facts correct if you are going to spout off about the Blue side. The fact that you think the Union didnt do anything for us furloughed guys in the way of a furlough fund just demonstrates that you are going off half-cocked.

Trade, pick up, trade pick up.... we have a United contract and if you choose to be on the street, like me, then thats your choice. However, I can see your point of not exercising your seniority number and thus your reason to do "something else" but really, are you truly furloughed? We are getting very tight here.
