SFO - 1

CLE - 8
GUM - 17
IAH - 108 (all were hired there)
EWR - 167

SFO, ORD, CLE and GUM pilots all have over a year on property. And IAH hasn't seen a new pilot since fall of last year.

EWR - 47

IAD - 7
EWR - 56

756

IAD - 1
IAH - 7
EWR - 41

No new hire has been given the 756 since fall of last year and the IAD and IAH pilots have over a year on property.

The only guy to make it out west was the 40th pilot hired when hiring resumed. So those of you hoping to get out west its going to be a long wait.
Awesome post.. I think people should realize that EWR is the place for the foreseeable future as a newhire. We can only hope this fall the "right sizing" will actually allow guys to go where they want (yours truly)

I don't remember where I saw it on CCS, but it said there were 546 new hires last year and 40 so far this year. No?

Just a random question regarding info on AirlinePilotCentral, does anyone know what this means under the United HIRING box-
ERJ-170 90.2Hrs ERJ-175 295.8 Hrs. ERJ-190 106.9 Hrs.

It doesn't look like anything had been updated since May 23 and that was only the fleet info.

Those pay rates are in the contract, as are the A380.

All I did was take the last pilot as of the 2010 merger snap shot and subtracted all the active pilots below him from the CCS staffing page and that gave me 466 active pilots for July.

FWIW, the 737 will probably go senior in your class, thus making the 76T the "remaining slots"

Few reasons..

The "T" (LUAL 757 and 767-300) is a dying airplane so although life will be good to start eventually you will be merged with the 756 fleet. The most junior 756 FO is currently a Sept 2013 hire EWR. The company is planning to merge the two fleets in 2015 with FAA approval.

After you start class you are seatlocked for 24 months. The exception is if you bid UP in equipment (Example: 737 to 76T or 756) you can do that whenever. Then another 24 month seat freeze so you couldn't go to the 320 or 737 for 24 months.

Most believe the 737 is better as you will have access to all the bases eventually and it is growing so more options.

Personally if you are ok with EWR and are going to commute I think the 76T would be a blast to fly and 2 yrs is going to go by so fast and with projected retirements it is anyone's guess what staffing will look like next summer let alone 24 months from now.

Most of the 76T flying in EWR is to LHR, GVA, and ZRH. The other flying it covers is L-UAL 757 JFK-LAX/SFO flying which is less commutable and mainly 2 day trips.

I live in a UAL base but commute to EWR on the 737 so hoping I will eventually get home.

Several reasons...

1. 737 is in pretty much every base, meaning you'll get out of EWR sooner.

2. 76T is a dying fleet with the 757's coming off line. The senior guys aren't going to bid off of it until they're bumped off... Meaning, it would be a long time to get out of EWR and/or get off reserve.

3. The 76T fleet covers all 3 airports in NYC. (320 and 737 cover EWR and LGA)

4. The fleet doesn't really pay any more since the few 767-300 trips will go senior. Those that do go junior, are unproductive. (757 pays same as 737 and 320)
