Rico- I considered driving my car as well but you really don't need it. Plenty of great options around the hotel within walking distance plus the hotel has a courtesy shuttle.

If you live in IAH you will want the bus. 737 is shrinking and 320 is growing in IAH.

737 was last given to new hires in OCT and recent bids have not had any vacancies.

320 has been awarded to new hires while they were still in training on vacancy bids.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the situation with the 75/6 is? As far as bidding it and getting IAH?

Thanks Blue… weighing all the options…
I read earlier that you're on the Bus… How's the training going? is it a paperless bird or will you have to carry your plates? the answer might affect my bid...

My opinion only......

We are transferring pilots to the 756 from the 76T through an agreement between the union and company. Since the 756(LCAL 757-200/300 767-400) and the 76T(LUAL 757-200 767-300) are different enough to require training the FAA has kept the fleets separate. In order to honor seniority (Depending on who you talk too) there are bids between the 76T and 756 that only those pilots can bid on. There has only been one of these bids so far and almost all the pilots that bid went form the 76T to the 756. As the 76T gets retired those pilots will be able to transfer to the 756 with out a system vacancy (this is where senior pilots get ****ed especially guys in IAD and LAX)

Anyways thats a lot of BS to answer your question but I would not count on holding the 756 or 76T in IAH for several years......5-7?

320 is shrinking in DEN and ORD. Growing in EWR and IAH. Stable in LAX, IAD, and SFO.

737* is shrinking in EWR and IAH and growing in all the other bases.

All this information came from the last Flight Ops Update published on Flying Together.

*See I didn't call it a "guppy"

All new hires will be given EWR as a starting base for the next year.

737 you will be able to bid out of EWR in a year

320 you will be able to bid out to IAH pretty quick but will be in IAH or EWR for at least a year.

76T you will be in EWR for 5+ years.

Just basing this off what I have seen on the last bids. New hires have not been awarded anything but 76T and 737 in EWR since SLI.

I agree. NYC was a huge LCAL base and now that those pilots can bid out to other bases, they have left a void of unfilled bids there. I predict about 6 months of all new hires getting EWR and JFK and then you will see the other bases needing Airbus and Guppy FOs.
