Most UAL guys are intelligent and pragmatic. Then there is the 5% factor that thinks all arguments are settled by exclamations pointed at the overwhelming size of The Whale. Funny how DAL doesn't seem to have this problem. They'll be gone as soon as the A350 shows up in numbers. Fortunately the whale and the 350 will pay exactly the same even though the 350 isn't quite as 'premium'. Get over it dude...

Verifying domestic IDs or they are dropped. Physically turn in medical by 25th or you go NQ. MEL's are safe and legal. If you refuse a plane you will talk to the chief pilot and could be removed from ID wop. Call a scab a scab and you'll be fired. "They need an attitude adjustment" equates to mind controlling. Wear your hat or you could be sent home. Maintenance comes into cockpit to argue. Ben, you have been assimilated into a culture that would not recognize the vast amount of control over you.
The best you have for a company is management/labor/customer relations? Everyone can be signing hand in hand but if the company isn't well run, it's going under. Driving away premium business travelers does not make for a profitable company.
Some groups fight for what is right and some get bent over refusing to file grievances. You must be pretty limber.

Looks like a few secondary vacancies on the 747 in SFO. Five FO's going to GUM to be Captain.

What he posted is just some of the crap that we now have to endure as a result of Jeff's team running the show. We're being unnecessarily and punitively micromanaged while water floods the hold. All of it designed to get us to capitulate.
Note I used the term, "some". He took it easy.
Eight years and you don't know what a grievance is? I think that's pretty good evidence of the difference in the two cultures.
As far as driving away customers, many of the long time UAL high rollers are now flying DAL. That's a revenue problem, not a cost problem.
PS That's "since" the merger.
