That's just in LAX. I'm not sure about the other bases, but I know its the same.

The "displacement" bumps are just going to be icing on the cake.
How do you go from bidding 737 FO to 747 Captain????

You don't. You get a guppy FO bid, then when the company refuses to train you within the contract time you get to bump to anything you can hold. So they are going to guppy Captain.

Good for them, thank god we got 14-11v to continue the idiocy when they can't be trained in time.

Maybe we should just give the whole airline displacement rights.

(disclaimer - I exercised displacement rights 9 months ago)

And of course,

Using aircraft nicknames when you are older than 30 =

Reminds me of actor Eugene Levy trying to use his kids high school vernacular so he sounds as if he's "hip".

JUST KIDDING GUYS!! You sound cool.

Its not about sounding "cool". Its tradition in aviation to give nicknames to airplanes. In some cases, each aircraft has its own individual name. Every heard of the "Enola Gay"?

This tradition can be a little hard for those current and former Barbie Jet types to accept.

Airplanes with nicknames… how novel!

Just because the NG Guppy has still has hub caps does not mean it is any less of a plane
