Absolutely. The new bid comes out and of course the first comment is about our dreaded scabs and the 787. As Bearcat points out there are quite a few full term CAL strikers on that thing who also flew combat missions in Vietnam. Can't think of more worthy types to be honored by our Union but all we hear about is the great 29 day UAL strike.
Most of you, as well as myself, aren't fit to wipe these guys boots yet you don't hear one peep about them from your side. Pathetic, IMO.
As for the brake release, I really don't think YOU want to go down that route as its shameful at best.

Yes, any full time striker deserves our respect. I can only imagine what being on strike for multiple years is like. I can only relate from the stories of our double furloughees who are continually thrown under the bus. If your nuts are so tight about this issue, why don't you take the issue with Hepner so we can honor both groups.
Regarding the brake issue, go right ahead. But if you knowingly violate the FM and ramp writes their version of an fsap against you, good luck at the mahogany table. Keep in mind your dragging your FO into the whole mess as well. Before you start ranting back, I've heard it all. From "i'm the capt and I can release brakes when I see fit" to "this policy is ridiculous and if the doors are closed I should be getting paid."
GB, you beat me to it. Thx

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding here... but are you coming on to a public forum and suggesting that we should release the parking brake prior to push to start the pay clock? You do realize that a willful violation of SOP makes an FSAP worthless right? Ask the guys who sucked the PC Air hose through the engine during start at the gate (3-5 million in damage) how that investigation would have gone had they released the brakes to get on the clock before the event happened.
Again, I may be misunderstanding your point, and if I am disregard

Not at all what I said Grumbler. Not giving anyone who served AND scabbed a pass. What I was saying was that we have quite a few 787 Captains who served AND stayed out on strike for two full years. No UAL Pilot can make that claim.
