The company is afraid the "junior" DCA A320 fo's will sidestep into the new 737 slots to get "seniority" ....if they see junior people coming under them on the 320 they decide to remain in seat. The company then doesn't have to train two pilots for one slot.

We have many L-UAL pilots who were flying at CAL, went on strike, and were on strike the entire time. They ended up not going back to the CAL after the strike and instead took jobs at United in the mid-late 80s.
Trust me. I've flown with them and they checked their book every time we had a jumpseater from CAL.

Pretty much. We've always had this built-into the system, but now its transparent with the published min-max which we didn't have and CAL did. Its a much needed improvement to the process and more transparency means better decision making by us.

Wrong again.

Consider it done my son.
All bs aside, what do you want a band and a parade? How about when I meet one I'll shake their hand? Every year the ual mec would recognize the strike and it's success. Can you claim the same?

It's so much fun how everyone from all workgroups continues to take sides. Meanwhile AA and DL are sitting back watching shaking their heads and laughing.
2014 net profits excluding special items:
DL: 4.5 Billion
AA: 4.2 Billion
UA: 1.9 Billion
Yay

Of course you gloss right over the real purpose of my post regarding our full term strikers but yes I do follow SOP. When all the doors are closed and push is imminent, off go the brakes. It's the scared of their own shadow types who are too terrified sitting there all bottled up for 20-30 mins not getting paid who I'm referring to. For all the bravado on not doing your paperwork in the crew van I'm surprised at the very weak response from your side regarding this? Shouldn't you be paid once all the doors are closed and you are fully responsible for all on board?
Since you're so tough about the brake release do it on your next line check. Most of the time you aren't getting leg overs anyway because it's rare your line value is above your PTC. Just so you know they can and will audit your brake release. Since you are doing it willfully, you're not covered by an FSAP. God help you if you have an incident which isn't even your fault but something happens like I mentioned in my previous post. All of a sudden a non event for the crew becomes a HUGE event for the crew. You don't like the SOP, get it changed. But to come on here thinking you're Chuck Yeager because you release the parking brake without clearance is not exactly what we should be mentoring our new Captains and New Hires to emulate. You're a Captain. Act like it. Someone pulls that stunt on a line check I'm giving and the ride is over before we leave the gate just so you know. It's stupid and dangerous for the ground guys.

I didn't gloss over it, I just agreed with what you were saying so didn't have anything to add. My post to you was polite and professional, but since you're and angry elf I'll respond in kind.

Can you imagine releasing the parking brake all the while having them manually pressed to the floor !!! The horror !!
Your example above indicates that someone started an engine at the gate, again while not being paid. Who friggin does that? Not sure what correlation would go with that but if I'm starting one at the gate, I damn well better be getting paid for it as I won't be doing it unless I am.
Looks like I'll never have the pleasure of flying with Captain Booksmart as I doubt I'll ever transfer to the school bus but you keep up the good work, we're all counting on you !!
Sincerely,
Brakepopper the Underpaid Angry Elf
