You are positive space must ride to training. Going home might be different, but going TO training if the plane goes, you go.

Your a must ride... To/from training... Don't get into a banter with them... Just say "yes" and go take a seat...

I then asked her how I was supposed to get adequate rest for an 4am sim if she had me arriving at midnight b/c I would never schedule that way on my own. She relented and eventually let me on. PS to training is booked as PS5 and DH is PS0, and I have no clue what PS1-4 are. She never mentioned the jumpseat. The whole thing was weird to me b/c after 10 years at a regional, Positive Space was simply that, regardless of the reason, but this is apparently how UAL does it. Declaring "must ride" and giving your supervisor's name seems to be the work around for this as was explained to me by some UAX guys in my class.
That is NOT how UAL does it - that is how CAL did it in the past. Multiple bulletins later to gate agents have not changed their behavior so politely stand firm on the "must ride" question.

Supervisor I usually say FODM and then give them the number - lol.
They find a seat every time for me.

Considering this was in ORD when it happened, I'd venture to say it was a legacy UAL agent. It only happened 1 time so could have just been the exception, not the norm. Just wanted people that are new to be aware.

She also rebooked me on a later flight (I was not aware of this) and I got an email from the company saying that I no-showed for a positive space booking. I had to then respond to that email explaining that I wasn't even aware of it and I wasn't the one that booked it. No big deal and nothing ever came of it, but this whole ordeal was from 1 gate agent in ORD.

Nope, can't get into 737 ORD yet. If I weren't seat locked, I could have snuck into the A320 for July, but oh well. People hired after me that only had A320 to choose from got ORD for July. Funny how it all works. I'm guessing by the summer, I might hold a line in EWR, and by fall, finally get ORD albeit reserve, which would be fine with me until I retire.

Same applies if you are in Timbuktu

Are times from indoc to training still 2-8 days in recent classes? Just wondering if this is pretty standard or it changes throughout the year.
