The last person above the gline or each BES is published in PBS. I believe it's under the "documents" tab.

Thank you. Looks as though you are correct. I'll be a union guy for what it is worth...I did not realize there was a choice.

If there is a location to learn about these things...I'm all ears. I thought that is what the forum is for...perhaps not?

From Wooden Wings

From Wooden Wings. It's a start. Tells the events surrounding the UAL strike. Then research the POS Frank Lorezo and the CAL strike. You can see how the SCABs allowed him to keep CAL flying. SCABs are the lowest form of pilot on earth. They took a job that real pilots were walking the line trying to protect.

Great attitude! And your analogy is apt. A you know, much of the banter and ridicule in a ready room is geared towards the health of the unit. Here on the forums in the digital world it is more difficult, but there are hundreds if not thousands available as resources. If you are up for some light reading I recommend "Flying the Line" vol 1&2. A good primer about scabs, unionism in general, and the origins of our union. OldHrntDrvr this would be a great discussion over beers!

Cheers

Where can you get the book or file with the names and pictures of the SCABS? I've looked online with no luck.

Don't be too hard on OldHrntDrvr, he doesn't know because no one told him.

I don't know what goes on in new-hire these days but back when I went through, we had ALPA guys come in and meet with us. They also treated us to some beverages at the bar that night. I came from an ALPA carrier and knew ALPA history but I didn't know the things specific to UAL.
I didn't know what a "slick-tie" was or why did some of the flight bags at TK have padlocks on them.
We have a lot of new hires on the property and lot more coming, we need to educate them before they get on the line.

Start by reading "Flying the Line." Part I and then Part II. Then all those other articles will make more sense. Your union rep should be able to get copies for you.
