Would Lexington be too far away to live for reserve? Just exploring the future. Thanks
About 75 miles to center of town from airport

Good question above and to further expound is Reserve based on time or distance? Ours is based on time 90mins, hot standby, or whatever. How does Brown do it?

90 minute call-out in SDF. Not do-able from downtown Lexington. Extremely dicey from the northern burbs, IMHO. I would not go much further than Frankfort (and expect to sit reserve at home). Ymmv.

I’m a Lex Vegas native…80 minutes from my parent’s house (west side of downtown, 5min from Rupp) to the gated lot. That’s too tight for a min call, IMO, even with bags packed.

Versailles would be tight but likely doable, Frankfort would be more realistic.

Anyone know of someone or currently live in the northern NYC suburbs and commute for UPS? We are in Indiana now but we want to get back to CT eventually, Stamford area. So HPN basically. Its an easy drive to LGA, JFK... SWF and BDL are under 2 hours. I am curious what that life may be like. I know lots of stuff happening down in PHL but thats a bit of hike plus having to fight through NYC. Appreciate any info.

I've done Reserve from Versailles. You have to be ready to go though. Any farther east would be too far in my opinion. Especially with the I-64 construction ongoing.

In my limited experience of only doing Res B (noon to midnight local SDF) and only for a few bid periods; I was only short called once a few minutes after noon. I would typically have a pretty good feel for what was going on based on our ability to see the RADAR (reserve pecking order) and Open Time. Or if I knew that call out was likely, then I would place the open trips in preference order the night before, and one would be assigned in the morning.

Bottom Line: anywhere in Lexington is going to be problematic with only 90 mins from call to parking lot.

Id use JFK until you head to CT, then BDL. Easy as pie. They have 2 flights a day to SDF most days of the week and at least 1 flight every day. Also Service some other cities less frequently. Use MHT, JFK, and ALB as backups.
