Many cancelled flights this week and volume is below forecast, often by a lot lately. I’m not sure what’s happening but it doesn’t seem normal post peak.

Are you serious?? I wonder if there was late notification maybe? Can’t imagine 1 person, much less 3 not showing up?
agree, that’s BS with all the people who really want to come over here..

Last 6 weeks of flying all but one of our flights were below planned PLD.
Didn’t write them all down but these are the flights I do remember. Not in chronological order.

ANC-ICN 30K below
DBX-SZX 15K below
HKG-CGN 55K below
CGN-SZX 40K below
SDF-DBX 70K below
SYD-ICN 10K below,
etc..
NOT predicting a doomsday scenario but I’ve never seen this during peak season?

not sure when that contract comes due for renegotiation, but her statement that she would rather constrain network growth and raise rates than grow volume may have been a shot at Amazon. If you think Amazon is simply going to push for ever greater volume at low rates and than leave us high and dry when their internal network catches up, than her statement may be aimed at Amazon. Now is definitely the time to cultivate new customers and diversify our customer base. Like FedEx, we will definitely go through withdrawal when we kick the Amazon habit.
