Exactly. 3 year upgrade here not gonna happen. If we had a B scale like Fedex maybe, but with a single pay scale I don’t see it happening. Plus, with our schedules being so bad, there is not much difference between 100% and 75% fleet/seat, so less people bypassing.

Fedex is an airline doing a mediocre job with its trucking division. We are a trucking company doing a mediocre job it’s airline division. Their airline maintenance is run accordingly as is ours. Often that means an MD gets stuck due to the lack of spares at international gateways. I’m not complaining, I make a lot of money off that error.

Its not bad for an airline, but Wall Street isn’t convinced for whatever reason. FedEx has been struggling to match UPS profitability for decades. It will be interesting to see how you guys change going forward as your C suite changes.

If you read the financial reports, Ground margins at Fedex have been running around 8%, while 13% or so for UPS. 5% difference doesn’t seem like much, but this is the main reason Fedex is being punished in the stock market, this and inability to control costs.
