Purely numbers, I'd agree.

If UPS has hired 162 this year and 38 have left, that's a little over 23%. I'd be surprised of legacies have that same percentage turnover.

SDF GMM said as of the August newhire class, 161 had been hired YTD.

The 1Sept25 seniority list published by the Company shows 154 2025 hires on property.

Have not done a forensic analysis on Sept-Dec 2024 hires and their status.

abysmal is relative. you millennials have no idea. Try $26K. This was the 1st year pay for the first decade of UPS. And 10th year FO pay was double digits. Not even $100/hr.

We would have to inflation base it to compare:

1994 new hire pay would be approximately 56K in todays dollars

Amazing how a certain generation doesn’t remember inflation exists when comparing their first year pay from the early days but by god are they aware of it under certain administrations.

Who cares? The environment today is one in which first year pay is much higher across the board….except at UPS. Sorry your generation had a different experience but your saltiness in no way justifies making new hires suffer. I’ll also echo what others have said about inflation. $95k in 1995 was equivalent to just over $200k today. Y’all were hardly at poverty wages as FOs…especially for being at an airline that wasn’t exactly a desirable place to be at the time.

The IPA does not want to use negotiating capital to raise new hire pay rates. They have no control of a new hire on probation and cannot protect he or she the first yr. Those pay rates are the best thing going, it solidifies the future commitment to the IPA and makes the IPA stronger.

Disagree.

The IPA wants to raise first year payrates because everybody involves knows current book probationary pay is beyond insulting....but in the past the Company has been unwilling to negotiate them.

Given that current UPS first year pay is 60% of what many first year RJ FOs with RATP currently make, one can only hope the IPA again proposes *and UPS is willing to entertain* first year pay in an future TA being at least on par with an E170.

This coming from the guy who claims to fly for both purple and brown? You realize your post history is public, right? You’ve wandered into the neighbor’s yard just to shake your fist at clouds. Don’t forget your Metamucil and applesauce before your nap, you’ve got a long night of polishing 727 models ahead.
