No one knows for sure. Hopefully they found their number (167) that they are over staffed by and they will have enough takers to retire early. Nobody knows anything concrete beyond that….. except UPS….. maybe.

It's that time of year to start next year's hiring (or lack of) thread. Looking for up to date info:
- remaining a/c deliveries
- known a/c retirements
- any other pertinent info. Trying to get all good info on post #1
TIA

Boilerup probably has the relevant info at his fingertips. I know that we are supposed to be taking delivery of some new production 767s and retire some (1-7?) MDs. Latest rumors about hiring I’ve heard are another round of buyouts are coming and (completely contradictory) we will be hiring by summer.

It may not be completely contradictory. It's not obvious to me how the math would work, but I suppose it's possible that getting rid of a bunch of five-week-OCVing, payscale-topping dinos fits in to their plans despite the greater initial cost.

I think the number of new 767s next year is 6. Don't hold me to that. I wouldn't pay much attention to buyout rumors. Especially considering it was not even known to SDF leadership until it was a done deal. Leadership has been quoted as saying no hiring until, at least, 2025. We won't even have a good sense of where block hours will be until the next bid package is published. After all, it's block hours that drive manning, not the number of brown tails. I would expect a realignment bid early next year, to rebalance the fleets.

"Aircraft Fleet" is the very last sheet on each Quarterly Financial Statement, and is similar (if not as comprehensive) as FDX's quarterly Stat Book.

Using the 10Nov23 bid package senoirity list update, which reflects post-VTP: 295 fewer pilots on seniority list.
