There were no displacements this last system bid. They did publish POSSIBLE displacements, but enough people bid out of the categories that displacements were cancelled.

Greetings,
Anyone know details about the UPS FQL Management Pilot positions? Process to be hired? Pay and benefits? Lifestyle?

Thanks!

There’s a lot of bitterness towards management, but even if you look at it objectively that job sucks. They make more money early on, but over a career will make quite a bit less all while working immeasurably more. They also don’t have a pension anymore, and their health benefits aren’t as good.

Just don’t do it. I honestly feel bad for them—they get worked like rented mules. If you want to commute then definitely forget it because they only get 8 days off per month.

I wondered about that job as well. It sounds a bit like being an USAF assistant director of operations, director of operations and squadron commander all in one.

Im not former military, but that description seems to dramatically over estimate the importance of the FQS position.

To each his or her own, but the instant 4th stripe is not worth it, like stated above. You will probably be buried in the training center and work your ass off during peak with no contract to protect you. You will also not be well respected by your fellow non management pilots. Still amazes me people still apply for that job.

You don’t even get the 4th stripe immediately anymore. Have to sit right seat for at least a year now.
