Is it possible for a new hire on the SDFZ757/767 to hold a line?

Most likely you're gonna have a few bid periods of reserve.

I actually don’t mind the international DHs on company aircraft *gasp*

It can be easier to just go thru customs with the crew and go directly to/from the aircraft. Plus the premium. I’d rather have the cash than the airline points, honestly

There's the question of efficiency. It usually takes two days to Intl cmml, one to company dh. Then again, there's also the issue of commuters that now have to go to sdf vs cmml'ing from their home

Can you explain the “premium” aspect for an outsider?

Simply put the company and the union have an agreement that the company can utilize company DHs that are not in accordance with our contract. The agreement was made due to Covid severely limiting the number of commercial flights available to international destinations. In exchange for this agreement, DHs to/from international (or Alaska and Hawaii) destinations pay a 2-hr premium for up to 7:45 block and a 4-hr premium for 7:45 and above.
