If you are in sdf doing domestic turns, from arriving at the airport to getting in your car to go home, what is a typical length of day?

Morning turn duty days are built <9:30, and I'd say a majority are 8ish hours long.

Until your turn cancels just before sign in and they reassign you a different one. The duty day starts at the new report time not the old one even if you’re already at the airport. What’s getting double the duty day and getting back 7 hours later than original.

But hey, you get AP and LP.

I would say afternoon turns tend to be closer to ten hours on average. ATC delays at EWR can turn an easy 8 hour duty day into a 12 hour slog or more. That said, for me, if I have to bid a line (because COVID has destroyed reserve), afternoon turn lines are the way to go. I stay on the same schedule as my family, have breakfast with them in the morning and sleep in my own bed every night. I tend to relegate fun trips (long CGN or Rota layovers) to open time pickups.

Oh, afternoon turn lines tend to be displaced for OE and releases to the line more often. But I don’t count on that.

Hard rest as in 2 hours? Planes continue onto SDF or ONT.

I meant the rest afforded by 121.485b. I'm wondering about bonus days off in the middle of a trip, if you live in anc.
