LOR: As I understand it you get called in for test/interview on own merit. But after you're in the pool you get 'points', I'm speculating: 1 each for PIC time, 121 time, jet time, degree, military time, 121/135 check airman, 121/135 instructor, chief pilot, etc. when that is maxed out the only points available are recommendations, the more recommendations, the more 'points' the sooner you get called in...?? (I did not come up with this, somebody with insight mentioned it.)
Classes: There is a class of 21 scheduled to start Aug. 8th. There are rumors (from pilots and management) of at least one more class this year. Management have said they have and will trained through peak.
Interviews: They are interviewing almost daily now, maybe daily as in 10 a week, up from two a week only a couple of weeks ago.

Rumor I heard was the company/airline wanted to hire 120, but Atlanta said "No to 120, but Ok'ed 63". I'm going to make a "WAG" and say after the T/A is passed, the Co will announce further hiring of at least another 60. Been here 21 years and have never been JA'ed as much as I've been the last few weeks.

That happens with every round of hiring. It's the airline's way of saying, "please don't hold us accountable for this mess, it was ATL that won't let us hire so just do us these favors."

I'm near the bottom, and have had 3-5 JA calls in the last few weeks. And sometimes the JA offer doesn't even get to me. I called them on one occasion to find out what was available and a trip was already taken.
These JA calls rarely go uncovered. Or make it very far up the list.

Has to do with "Amazon Week" last week. Still spilling over to this week. Ramp Sup told us volume last week was almost peak like. Couple this with the razor thin way they are staffing, and JA calls galore.

On a somewhat different subject - a friend who works for amazon and has attended a few of their long term planning meetings said their upper management seems to be very unhappy with us, she heard that all "we need more lift from you" requests get shut down by our management. Doesn't bode well for our engagement with them 3-5 years down the road.
