UPS Captain Arrested in FL

FWIW, the story I heard on this individual is that the company terminated him. If and when he succesfully navigates the judicial process and the FAA process, the IPA can then attempt to return him to employment. Until those processes are complete, there is no sense in expending capital unless there is a chance he can return to the seniority list.
Believe its a moot point now. Think he plead guilty this June/July in some type of plea deal to avoid jail time.

No such thing in my books, he's innocent until proven guilty. We only saw snippets of a video. ..but even if we saw more I'd still consider it to be irrelevant.
We fly airplanes for a living. Other people are judges for a living. I leave it to them and to the jury to decide if his actions were "distasteful" or not.

IPA has a duty to represent any pilot terminated from employment, process is driven by the Railway Labor Act. Specifically as written in the collective bargaining agreement. Termination process has many steps, some are timely, thus to protect the pilot, the process is followed often to the arbitrator if that is the wish of the pilot. Ultimately, this protects each line pilot by ensuring the company will not attempt to terminate pilots without a specific cause and justification that stands the scrutiny of the entire RLA/CBA process and IPA representation.
Would argue that IPA representation has been very effective since its inception.
