The company will pay for a move to ANC when it is their poor planning that causes a displacement. This has occurred in the past via displacement/realignment bids. Once again, paid moves are unlikely in the foreseeable future.
An ANC override ? That's news to me. If we EVER had one, it went away ALONG time ago. But I'm new here, so maybe it was before I was in ANC ... pre 2007ish ???

ANC is beautiful, been there a bunch for fuel stops... I'd take that place and the commute over a NYC domicile any day of the week.

With 8 Airframes by the end of 2018, maybe there is a chance of SDF 747. One can dream.
Because the commute up to Alaska Blows!!!!!!!

No, UPS will not pay for any new hire to move a domicile. If a current pilot is displaced out of their domicile there are contract provisions to pay for the move. Also there is no override for the ANC domicile.

Maybe ..or maybe not.
About eight years ago I flew with a guy who was absolutely adamant about retiring at 58. He wouldn't stay here a day longer. Period!
Then he said the same about leaving at 60. This time he really meant it!
Not a day over 63 he said over a few beers!! He'd had enough of this crap!
...He ended up leaving at ..65.
Well, a week or so before his birthday.
Don't blame him at all. When the time comes reality always kicks in and people remind themselves that this is a very well paid part-time job. Most end up revising their retirement plans and I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens after the next year's bonus payout.
