Atlas Air Hiring
Lately there are more 747 folks here at FDX than 767 folks. Even if you have the 767 type you're still required to go through the entire course. There is no short course. Besides, you bid for your aircraft based on the last 4 of your SSN - higher is better. You could just as easily end up on the 757 or the 777. MD is still being selectively assigned, but that may change soon.

I've done both, and for me personally, consistent night turns are easier than varying schedules all the time. I did that for years and adjusted very easily. We have a lot of 24 hour overnights on the 74, which are the worst...a complete flip in the body clock is required, though rarely happens.
Of course...we also have 3+ day sits in places like SYD, HKG, NRT, PVG, LEJ, etc...so you take the good with the bad.
Long hauls for me
On another thread: UPS guy said rumour of them buying Atlas. I think that would be very hard to do with the current Amazon arrangement. But, maybe UPS specifically wants to buy Atlas to prevent Atlas from flying for Amazon???
I would put less than zero stock in that particular rumor.

I may be wrong but I think the Challenge certificate ended up being ... Centurion a few years later.
The other problem is.. as much as the Atlas guys want to think they are "like" UPS and FDX... they really aren't... the entire model is different.

You are right we are nothing like them... We fly 767's and 747's with freight all around the world in the dead of night...
On top of this, we fly the nations Military to hostile bases
We now have a new partner with extremely deep pockets doing E-commerce with a number of 767's coming, I believe much more than the "20"
You are right, we are nothing like we them- we deserve much more than UPS or Fed
