New TA... again
#301
Thanks captain obvious, I am fully aware of the process,(without a no strike clause in the contract) find me another airline with with that no strike clause. We are still operating under that contract as it auto renews every October, read section 31. (Being in negotiation doesn’t stop the renew even though it could be interpreted that way, yet we still operate under current contract till new one is approved) Having this no strike clause is the reason the company can sit across the mediation table and tell the union that if we don’t pass this they won’t come back to the table for 2 years, they know full well that we have no leverage.
If it was common business why is the clause not in the new contract?

Gotta read the whole paragraph...

"This Agreement shall become effective on October 1, 2003, and shall continue in full force and effect until eight (8) years thereafter, and shall renew itself without change until each succeeding October 1 thereafter, unless written notice of intended change is served in accordance with Section 6, Title I of the Railway Labor Act, as amended, by either party hereto at least ninety (90) days, but not more than three hundred sixty-five (365) days, prior to October 1, 2011 or any October 1 thereafter."

The contract language isn't null and void but the union complied with:
"unless written notice of intended change is served in accordance with Section 6, Title I of the Railway Labor Act, as amended, by either party"
They did that over 8 years ago in order to start the negotiations process.

Two more posts from you and not a single fact to back any of your claims (even though I've continuously asked for some sort of supporting information). It's obvious that you don't like the TA, but no one knows why. Without ever providing clarification, it's even more obvious that you are just angry and you may not even know why yourself. Once you can articulate some reasons, I hope you learn how to negotiate and go and volunteer to be part of the team that gets us more next time. In the interim, telling your coworkers to walk away from a pay raise and work rule improvements because you are mad at the company (that you chose to work for and choose to continue working for), is extremely self serving and not a way to build on gains going forward. As far as the mechanics' vote, their vote doesn't affect us and our vote doesn't affect them. "Standing with them" as you say is not symbolic in any way and helps no one, regardless of how you try to justify it.
Lipstick on a turd is still a turd no matter how you dress it up bro .
Say what you want, it’s either going to pass or fail by one or two votes probably and I hope I’m the last no vote that stops this crap from passing.

Let's say that you are successful in scaring enough pilots away from the best offer that we have been offered in the last 10 years with your anger, pessimism, and fear mongering. What should we expect to get next, how long will it take, and how will we actually get it?
