I have an interview scheduled soon. I don't have all the atp mins I'm actually short with cross country by around 20 something hours. Lets say all is well with interview does any employee here at air wisconsin know what will happen? Will I have to re interview? Will I have to get my hours and then report for training?
Thanks

You can get a restricted ATP on the basis of insufficient X C.

Thank you for your response. I wasn't specific though. I'm short on the atp restrictive xc hours but I'm over 1400. So what do they usually do at air wisconsin?

Unless you also graduated from one of the "approved" aviation programs, you still need 1500 hours, so you're also short on total time.

Exactly. I'm 20 something short on restrictive atp xc hours. My total time is over 1400. My multi time requirements are met. I still was called for an interview .So I'm not sure what will happen. I graduated from a part 141 program .

I know a girl that didn't have ATP mins or the written. She interviewed and they offered her a job. Told her to call when she had both completed and they will give her a class date. Not mention of any more interviews. Just call and get the class date.

Well first things first check out aviation interviews.com. Beyond that show up, don't be cocky, it's a personality interview more than anything else. When they ask for stories don't make them up, they can see right thru them. If you have time buy the book "Checklist for Success" by Sheryl Cage, it's around $20-$25 shipped. The questions in there are great and get you thinking. It's even good prep for interviews at the majors.

An example of a question would be, "tell me about a time you had to make a hard decision". "Tell me about a time you did something unsafe".

With everything, even something negative, it's OK for you to admit a mistake, the important thing is what you do now because of it. Of course, don't make every story about a mistake you made.

Have a good range of stories, look thru your logbook remember your past flights end events. You want a base from which to draw upon.

Just like I don't, or anybody that is not in the owner's box. The fact is there are no long term plans here and if I was 22 like I was when I started, there is no way Awac would be my pick. I noticed in all the sweet nothings, you left out the part where our company is the only airline that is forcing pilots to state why they will it accept fdp extensions, under threat of discipline if they don't comply. You are sick, fatigued, or you take the extension. Why don't we expound on that? Give these dudes a real glimpse of what behind the curtain. It's not pretty here, for a lot of reasons...
I wouldn't put any stock in the rumor that 10 airplanes are being returned to the lease holder which is probably just a entity owned by the mystic six pack anyway.

Airways keeps asking AWAC to cover more flying BUT you can only do so much with 71 birds so I would say it is more likely that more AC show up on property.

I work here. I like it here and I have helped friends get jobs here. If you don't like it you can leave at anytime. Check your work rules, top tier health insurance, and 8% company 401K contribution at the door.

Ok, I'll bite. I haven't worked at AWAC for 5 years, happily at Jetblue. Let me tell you this... look at the industry. LOOK! When you work for an airline you get all google eyed about best case scenarios but really examine the industry and the fate of air wisconsin is plain as day. It will be done, kaput, 6 feet under, a goner, hasta la vista, dead as a doornail sooner rather then later. There is a chance that some semblance of the airline will be around in 5 years, but probably not. Something big, really big has to happen for them to remain at all relevant... think replace all 50 seats jets with embriars big, or CRJ-900... and then look and ask yourself do you see that happening at AWAC. You have 6 older men that own the company and made billions... why would they re-invest that money? The returns on regional jet flying are smaller then ever, they have no stock holders to pander to, so why do it?

When I was at AWAC I saw multiple united RFP's go up in smoke, the midwest RFP, and I'm sure countless others all failed. So next year when the leases start expiring what do you expect to happen? United MUST reduce 50 seat flying per the pilot contract in order to recieve more 70/90 seaters, American is capped, Delta certainly doesn't want them. They are un-economical aircraft that cost a lot to operate, and are being replaced ASAP. The contract and leases are expiring providing a no cost way for american to rid itself of aircraft it doesn't want.

This is no slam to the pilots, some of the best I have worked with, but stop seeing all the roses and look at the real future ahead.
