The 22 plastic version is equal to or even better than the 22 metal one. The plastic erosion holds up just as well and it's 5 pounds lighter. That weight savings is definitely noticeable.

I got the metal frame. Starting to see some bend after 14 months, although not much. It's heavy. I'd go with the plastic frame if I had it to do over.

I can give you a small snapshot from the group I interviewed with last week. Earliest date offered was June 25, and I believe several people took it. Myself and at least one other person took late August/early September dates, although I'm hoping to be able to take an earlier class if I can make it work with my career transition from my "normal" job and cross country move to my wife's new post with the Army.
We were told to expect 6 weeks in Appleton (5 for those that already have an ATP) for systems/CPT followed by 2 weeks of sims with IOE to follow. Best case would probably be 3-4 months from start of class to off IOE.

as of today on crew availability, it says we have 17 in training however as of tomorrow 13. I don't know if this means 4 are completing IOE today and then are now on the line or they have 4 resigning tomorrow because they didn't make it through. All that being said, taking 17 still doesn't cover attrition from the last three months. That number represents all those in training; CTP, indoc, systems, CPT, sims. I am not sure about IOE. I would venture to guess it does include them, but who knows. Still 17 new hires in a 3 month footprint doesn't look that great if we are interviewing even 30 per month.
