McDonald's just fired their CEO for an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate, but even with all of his not so secret extramarital exploits, BM is being groomed for CEO. Is that an example of "Do the right thing"?

BM was the President and COO already. They gave the COO to GB with BM staying on as President. I’m not sure that’s a promotion.

GB now works for BM. So it looks like BM still has control over ops, but will be freed up to focus on other things (negotiating the Max discount?).

Or it could have been a negative if they decided they needed to put a firewall between him and rank and file employees.

You know that doesn't apply to the rank and file. If you think progressive discipline is Alaska policy, you're kidding yourself.

I was pointing out that Alaska talks the talk, but frequently doesn't walk the walk. There is obviously a double standard at work here.

If half of the BM rumors are true, it is crazy...

But in true shareholder fashion, they get paid and turn the blind eye. As soon as the checks stop flowing, he is done.

Why do you always say this about “progressive discipline”? Were you let go in the past as an Alaska pilot due to a discipline issue that was carried out in a manner that you thought was not properly handled?

It’s my understanding that people have been let go for dubious reasons. Mostly around #metoo stuff with the FAs.

Let's just say I've seen more than one example of "one strike and you're out." Or as they say in the military, "A thousand "Attaboys" erased by one "Aw, Shiite."
