OTZ- where did you get those numbers?
I think most would rather look at frozen fish then really know what is going on at our company. They want lies not good info or facts!

OTZ, when I read the email, I noted the accuracy. Almost went searching to see how far, if at all, you were off.
People seriously need to understand what the forum is and what it isn’t. If you don’t like someone’s prediction.... ignore.
If you love someone’s prediction.... be encouraged, but might wanna hold off on the new boat a bit.
Neither are gospel. I’ve never thought MEA or OTZ had an agenda other THEIR info/perspective.... at. that. point.... in space and time. All things being equal, (737 Max failure, Covid 19.... those change any previous prediction) they both are pretty accurate.

If anyone here actually cared about jr pilots there would be posts with a lot of details on:
- contractual procedures for furlough
- what to expect when the company notifies
- how to insulate yourself from job loss
- CARES provisions that could help pilots
I’ve seen zero information on this from our pilot group or the union. Clearly because no one in management, the union or the pilot group cares about anyone other than themselves. It’s what I’ve known to be true since I started working at AS. I’m glad it’s obvious to everyone now.
Gloating on predictions of how bad it will be doesn’t mean much. Other than the fact you rejoice in the misery of others. Congrats you’re a terrible person. You can brag about it to your newly downgraded FO. Show them photos of your boat in the most tone deaf manner possible. Go on for hours, revel in their misery.
Don’t forget to pick up some premium and keep hundreds of pilots out of work. So you can buy a new toy and keep the misery alive and well to make yourself feel better than those around you.
The Delta thread on furlough has quite a few of these posts. It’s pretty obvious to me which is the better pilot group.

Unions have some time to get around to that kind of thing (thanks Uncle!), they frankly have their hands full right now.
In the meantime...
If you're junior (including junior NB CA's), and are too obtuse to realize it on your own: get your finances in order, cut spending, and start saving. Consider selling expensive luxury assets, although now's a bad time for that, probably better to wait until the economy recovers somewhat (you'll still be furloughed). Start thinking about backup jobs. For Uber, they say you really need a hybrid to make any kind of money.

Does there really need to be post after post about what to do if you get furloughed? You do what the tens of thousands of pilots who’ve been furloughed before you have done. You go out and look for a job, any job. I thought ATP rated pilots had to be at least 23 years old? How much hand holding do grown *** men/women need? Most questions on the furlough process can be answered by reading the contract. We have 5.5 months until the hammer drops. Assume you will be furloughed and not on the AS payroll for at least a year maybe two. Use this time wisely.

Sorry for telling everyone what was really about to happen here at Alaska. Sorry, for not letting everyone to hide in their safe spaces. I was tired of listening to union lies on podcasts. 40 minutes of wasted time, talking about nonsense. Where no body “knows what we don’t know“. I hate nonsense and wasted time. If I were on the hook, I would really want to know sooner rather then later! I was trying to help, I was trying to treat you like an adult.
