All indications are leading to furloughs, yes, even here at the Eskimo. It’s anyone’s guess how many but I bet the bean counters have a fairly good idea. DAL was very clear about it and our management have said it in so many words hinting that we will definitely be a smaller airline when this is all over. Management is trying their best to calm folks down but keeping their golden goose alive and healthy is their #1 priority. If they accept the grant money, it’ll at least buy us time until the end of this fiscal year. JMHO.

If they furlough 1200-800 starting 10/1 wouldn’t they need to downgrade 1/2 that many capts by then? Seems slightly extreme that would all happen that day with the training back log.

My takeaway from the base call today is that as of right now, that's still a big "if."

They are taking the money.

Downgrades are a pretty quick training event.

275 downgrades
375 furloughs would be the likely number. The other numbers are possible though
