Just a question, you say you wish to help the pilot group with your inside information, have you passed this knowledge to your reps, the mec, or at the very least in person to your friends in the prominent union positions? If not, then why not, it seems that would serve everyone better than posting on an anonymous message board. If you have, what feedback did you receive from them, is it different than what the union offers the pilot group through their communications?

Yes, regularly. “We have to wait, let the whole thing play out”- is the just of the response. I feel that is irresponsible, reckless, and unkind to those affected. Surprisingly, there are strong differences of opinion amongst the union ranks. I would argue all wish for the same outcome but path, poster, and stance varies greatly. Some are intelligent and have common sense, others only guided by anger and bitterness. There are strong rifts in our union, many will not talk to others, save me all the BS and kumbaya, I actually know what is going on.

Looks like AA is resuming New hires! That's great news! Hope we've bumped off the bottom of this thing!

We're off the bottom, but it looks like still a long ways to go.

Looks like DP is betting the farm on a fast recovery, he might as well AA is probably the most likely BK candidate if this doesn't turn around quickly regardless of what their managers do.

So are we... those guys at AAL have been in limbo for months, protected by the CARES act, nothing has changed, they are still furlough fodder. AAL is getting rid of more then 30% of management jobs, please open your eyes.

https://thepointsguy.com/news/southw...full-schedule/

Southwest Airlines is betting on its history of growing out of economic slowdowns to be among the first airlines to resume a full flight schedule after the coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday, the Dallas-based carrier extended its schedule through Jan. 4, 2021. The plans call for about as many flights as it flew at the end of 2019 by the end of this year. That includes growing the number of available seats for sale by 10% or more at its bases in Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), Nashville (BNA) and Phoenix (PHX).

I believe it's one newhire class, and this was one that was sent home in March and already being paid a training guarantee. It's not a new fresh class.

But why train them before a furlough? It costs more money than sitting at home collecting a paycheck. They could be seat fillers while other pilots are trained from one to the next before a furlough but that is the only negative reason I could think of.

We cancelled the May bid but still created ~18 pseudo positions so newhires could still slide in. Companies don't have to but once in a while they do the right thing. In any case they're permanently parking E190s, 757s, 767s, A330s. 4 entire fleets gone and parking 80 or so older 737s. The math isn't looking good for any airline.

You are? I thought you said in an earlier post Alaska is furloughing hundreds, which is it?

Really, that is ridiculous and absolutely untrue. I have good friends in prominent roles at the union, they are doing what they can, I would do no better. I spend seconds on this site debunking nonsense, most of my friends give up many hours a day trying help the pilot group.

Textbook denial lol
