This "snap up" won't save us from only getting 4%. JB and SW are pretty far off from getting anything. The top 3 will have to exceed $350 within the next 11 months for the average to cancel out the bottom two. These rates will be ours to own for the next 6 years, maybe longer. For years I've heard 99% of this group say we're never again going to accept 5% less. Now guys are tripping over their deeks to do just that. Inflation calculators have your 2019, $266/hr rate at $308 today. Do you believe you're worth $2 less than a mere inflation bump? If you really, truly, believe we hold all the cards, why are we settling for rates below a known range? Send it back and be confident in your Royal Flush.

you sure about that? As of Dec 30 2022 their CA TOS rate would have been $309/hr. The FO rate looks like it was copied and pasted. Mirror image. So in 2.5 Months they would already been ahead. However, they found those numbers too embarrassing so the kicked it back. Nothing we wouldn't eat out of the trash for though...
So to recap their pay was lower than ours and it came with concessions. Good luck in fantasy land. Sure glad we have who we do on the NC over someone who thinks like you do.

This easily passes. The disconnect between what you read on here VS talking to guys on the line is unreal. 80/20.
No concessions. 330/hr ending NB pay(highest in the world). Vacation rules that will allow 20+ off in a month with less than a week vacation. Golden days to protect birthdays anniversaries etc. Scope. Reserve rules with several industry leading provisions and no junior manning unlike most every other airline. 5:15/ adg. Need I go on? This is a quantam leap over current rules.

Why does everyone keep saying this as if it's a BAD THING?? Ohh nooo delta might beat our rates by 5 dollars poor us. We have a snap up. It would be a GREAT THING. I hope they get 700/hr for goodness sake.

No. The average snap up is for carriers who have new contracts. Alaska comes out the gate with $306. DL comes out at $315, UA comes out with $320? You get $317.50. Wasn’t the company offering $280 TOS less than a year ago? Alaska coming out of the gate first as the 6th biggest airline with these rates creates the BASE of where the big 5 are going to start negotiating, because even the big 3 demand a premium which is subsided by widebody flying. The snap up does not include carriers in negotiations. Did you read the TA at all? Are you willing to blow up your entire TA to go back to the table to make an extra $160/mo? I have a feeling your $318 at year 2 will be $330 and year 3 will be around $345.

I did read the TA summary, and listened to the podcasts. As you explain it, is not the way it’s written. It's the average of 5 airlines. UA, DL, WN, AA. JB (IF they have an agreement) By Sept. 1, '23. 3 of those airlines are closer to a TA than 2 of them. 3 of them would have to exceed $350 in the next 11 months for us to see a bump above our 4% increase for Sept, '23. You're trying to tell me that if DL gets a big rate increase within 11 mos. we get a rate increase, even if the other 4 are still negotiating? Nope. It'll be an average of 4 airlines (JB excluded) in which case we get our sub inflationary 4%. If I'm wrong in understanding this, please show me.

ahhh, what? I'm not asking you anything, I'm telling you your interpretation is incorrect. If you have info contrary to this. Tell me about it. Sounds like you dont.

It’s not an excuse. There’s no point stalling on purpose on our end simply because no other airline has gone first.
I got salt for saying I’d be happy with $320/hr and was accused of undermining our union. I’ll be honest, when a fellow CA txt me asking what I thought the DOS rate would be, I said 300-305. That was my realist answer.

Yes I hope so. Im voting yes. Great overall contract with rules that work together to greatly improve everything especially QOL, reserve, scheduling and scope. I don’t want to wait for an unknown period of time for another TA with an unknown value.
