No, what’s going to make it go away is that it’s an MOU, rather than contractual agreement.

Pure myth you are spouting. Typical of the Hat Band crowd. You guys are what make Alaska Airlines not a career destination but just a flying job…Of course when the majority of pilots are based in one place you are just going to have incest and incest breeds your kind of thinking…To be expected, nothing to see here

I’m not sure why you think I am lying exactly, like I said it’s not a secret.

Instead, as expected you purely want to bash the company for something that they instituted, yet is being abused by the very pilots they instituted it for. All I am saying is at this point if it goes away, you ain’t got the company to blame…

Looking at the reserve grid, I can drop 6 days of work and go to 19 days off, 11 days of flying and settle for 71 hrs credit. (CA rsv coverage is very good in my base these days).




And none of this is 150% or 200% Premium. This is all just normal flight pay, normal trips.
At Alaska you only get 15 days off in a month where you have vacation?

the same program has been at regionals for YEARS. The program will go away when it no longer suits the company to encourage pilots to commute in on days off or for open time. Its implementation was to help with poor staffing levels and help with commuter attrition.

JL's only regret is that there weren't another 2000 pilots just like you. He'd have his pic on top of the wall of legends, wearing a wreath of laurels and hailed by management as a returning conqueror. But instead, he went back to "doing what he loves most", flying the line and spending more time with his family.
Why aren't we getting $280/hr right now? That's what they wanted to pay us. If, as you say, the company has no incentive to pay an industry wage, then why aren't we getting $280/hr?

You mentioned something about being a Monday morning quarterback in a previous post. Me thinks you're not quite familiar with what that means.
-Voting yes on a contract and then picking it apart after it's passage would be akin to "Monday morning quarterbacking"
-Vocalizing all the shortcomings and predicting the obvious outcome of getting passed by a country mile by every company signing new contracts, before a CBA is even a TA......that's not called Monday morning quarterbacking, that's just called reading.
